Access automation experts, FAAC are setting the standard in 24V technology with their latest range of operators, making it easier for installers to comply with the relevant safety regulations. Notable additions to the 24V range include the second generation, hybrid powered S450, the S418 electro-mechanical swing gate operator and the FAAC patented C720 sliding gate gearmotor. FAAC also offer a new selection of control boards for 24V operators, such as the highly-acclaimed E124, featuring the latest in FAAC technologies.
Following in the footsteps of the pioneering S700 hybrid model, the S450 swing gate operator combines the advantages of hydraulic technology with the efficiency of a 24V DC motor. Suitable for high frequency applications due to its continuous duty cycle, the S450 also boasts a high opening/closing speed. Integrated mechanical stops eliminate the need for externally mounted stops and its longer stroke aids ease of installation. The rear bracket can be adjusted for greater flexibility and its housing is transparent for LED visibility, enabling easy set up and maintenance. A FAAC patented integrated bus encoder ensures maximum safety and aids compliance with current European safety standards.
Shortlisted for an IFSEC Security Industry Award earlier this year, the S418 electro-mechanical swing gate operator is capable of moving a gate with a leaf up to 2.7m, while only requiring a 24V power supply. This makes it environmentally efficient and ideal for complex installations, where its long stroke and multi-position fixing brackets give it greater flexibility. A virtual encoder within the control board uses current and frequency maximise safety by signalling the gate to stop and reverse, if an obstacle is detected.
Requiring almost half of the power required by other operators currently on the market, the C720 sliding gate operator features the FAAC patented cyclo gearbox which boasts a mechanical efficiency of over 80%, up to two times higher than traditional gearboxes. In addition, the new gearmotor improves robustness and reliability as the transmission load is distributed to many contact points.
Considered to be one of the highest performance electronic control units for swing gate systems available, the E124 includes push button programming to ease installation and 2easy bus technology compatibility to simplify the process of connecting accessories. Built-in flexibility using the latest Omnidec technology enables the E124 to operate with different types of transmitters. Also available for the E124 is the new XCom wireless programming system which uses transceiver modules for remote programming.
With more than 40 years experience, FAAC is a world leader in gate and door automation. The company has manufacturing and development facilities in Italy and Ireland and distributes its products in more than 90 countries. Within the UK, FAAC (UK) based in Basingstoke is the market leader in residential and commercial markets, which it serves through a national network of approved installers, all trained to FAACs high standards.
