Canal Architectural were approached to supply and fit 14 feature staircases to the iconic BBC Television Building apartments. The Grade II listed building in White City, West London was recently converted into luxury apartments and penthouse suites.

The first apartment staircase was manufactured in mild steel and featured folded steel plate treads, clad in timber. The landing balustrade featured toughened and laminated glass that was bonded into the steel channel beneath the floor level. The staircase was site sprayed in matte black to blend perfectly with the contemporary elements of the penthouse apartment.

Another apartment featured a mild steel staircase with American white oak treads with a site sprayed matte white finish. The stunning yet minimal visual look of the staircase worked well with the newly renovated, modern apartment features.

The Canal site team worked closely with the contractor for a smooth delivery and to ensure the specification met all current UK staircase building regulations.
