Forbo Flooring Systems has introduced a dedicated tile collection to its Flotex brand for 2009. Flotex is still truly unique; combining the comfort of a carpet with the durability of a resilient, but now features new designs.
The new tile collection incorporates contemporary new designs created specifically to widen the scope of application and to deliver the practical, hygienic and environmental benefits of Flotex to many new sectors. The new choice of architecturally inspired designs ensures that Flotex is relevant and on-trend for professional settings in addition to its popular education, health and hospitality usage. Three of the new tile designs, Seoul, Oslo and Samoa, can be laid broadloom for striking carpeted visual effects whilst delivering all the benefits of a modular flooring system: efficient installation, reduced wastage and compatibility with raised access floors.
Forbos in-house design team have utilised sophisticated screen printing techniques to open up this raft of new design possibilities. The exciting new designs include Oslo and Seoul, two contemporary geometric designs with a highly textured visual effect which are particularly suitable for offices and other heavy traffic environments such as public spaces. Integrity is a modern linear design suitable for medium to large sized areas that require a calming and relaxed atmosphere. The muted shades combined with the subtle pinstripe create a distinctive and professional setting. For a simply stunning look, Penang incorporates a subtle directional effect in numerous rich shades, suitable for any stylish interior. While Samoa and Palma, previously only available in sheet, add an additional element of fun and colour to the tile offer.
Millions of electrostatically flocked fibres means Flotex is an exceptionally hardwearing textile floor. But its not just a practical option, its a hygienic one too. Flotex is approved by Allergy UK as it has the ability to trap allergens and release them safely to standard cleaning appliances creating a more comfortable environment for asthma and allergy sufferers. In addition, the highly effective anti-microbial treatment sanitized means Flotex offers constant protection against bacteria including MRSA and E-coli while the waterproof backing allows for cleaning right down to the base of each flock.
Developments across the flooring sector have seen a blurring of the traditionally held criteria for commercial flooring specification, with hybrid products being able to deliver the best of both worlds.
