Over 260m of Fordingbridge's covered retail canopies now protect shoppers at Rustington, West Sussex, from rain, snow and UV, ensuring retailers are able to maximise revenue throughout the year.
The team at Fordingbridge worked directly with the landlord and architect of the scheme, enabling the project to move through planning to completion, with all steelwork manufactured in their purpose-built factory prior to our installation.
Managing Director, Sarah Wickens, said “We have had a busy year supporting all our tenants and working with the chamber of commerce and parish council to ensure the Centre is a safe and welcoming place to shop.”
“Shoppers can now queue outside undercover and will also benefit in the long term from shelter as they move between shops on rainy days. Shoppers have told us they like open air shopping and we want to make their experience enjoyable whatever the weather”.
The scheme has also been greeted with huge positivity by local residents: “Just to say that my wife and I think they are fantastic and are very grateful to be living in a village where there is belief in the high street and that investing in it will attract back loyal customers.”
“Very visionary and it will make an already fab shopping street even better,” commented another happy resident. “Congratulations to all involved. I have to say I think the canopies are looking absolutely stunning – how lucky is Rustington – we will be the envy of even more towns and villages than we already are!”
