Four spacious townhouses in Marlow feature Gartec private lifts

Four landmark spacious townhouses each featuring a private lift to all floors in the picturesque town of Marlow (Riverpark Villas, Pound Lane, Marlow).

Gartec Home and Bellwood Homes have worked together using the Gartec HomeLift for each of the four townhouses recently built next to the Old River Thames, Marlow. The lifts specified were required to travel between four floors and to follow the design story within each house. The project required a lift that would take you through the exquisite townhouse with ease from the ground to the top floor to fit the design brief.

Gartec Home provided design input early on and recommended the HomeLift as it was best suited to this high-end property. Gartec recommended the S12 option of HomeLift, offering 1000 x 1200mm internal space, that gives flexibility for everyday items such as laundry, a vacuum, suitcases etc but also for a futureproofing perspective comfortably accommodating a wheelchair.

Within this project, Gartec Home and Bellwood Homes have put in place a 24-month warranty, including 2 service visits per annum. Their in-house service department will arrange a visit when convenient which involves a Gartec Home engineer attending to carry out extensive safety checks, providing peace of mind and preventing potential issues from occurring.

The design throughout the townhouse is sophisticated with a monochromatic theme used on the units, within bathrooms and dressing rooms, Miele integrated appliances and a modern exterior. The level of detail extends throughout the interior finishes with hand finished internal Bolection Iris doors with chrome features, glazed glass lift doors and porcelain and wooden flooring keeping the townhouse interior design timeless. Within the home, the four floors are split into the Kitchen area, the living room and receptions, with the bedrooms, bathrooms and dressing rooms on the two top floors.

Having a private home lift provides the homeowner benefits to owning a townhouse within a central location. The lift allows homeowners to have a forever home, assist with disability requirements and it can also support the lifestyle you follow, whether its frequent travel and luggage being transported from the top floors to the ground floor or with children, pushchairs and toys or just for ease of daily tasks. Gartec Home can provide advice on what lift will suit a home and lifestyle, but also the benefits of the different sizes, features and design choices.

The lift installed is a Gartec HomeLift, designed by their Swedish parent company Aritco with care and attention for optimum style, and safe for any home. The lifts give flexibility to access different floors, following the design style of the home and avoiding costly renovation. The lift also comes with a SmartLift app where the user can change the lighting using a smart device.

The Gartec HomeLift was installed by two engineers, with each lift taking one week. The lifts included; one touch call station buttons, LED platform and shaft lighting, automatic fully glazed doors, a Smartlift App, autodialler on platform (emergency telephone), an external alarm sounder and emergency battery lowering.

Upon installation, Gartec provides an information pack, alongside a full handover and training which will guide the user through all the features included.

Each home consists of several colour schemes, trends and finishes. Gartec Home offer various finishes to compliment, including; wall and door colours, flooring options along with a DesignWall feature using patterns and artwork applied to the back wall of the lift.

The frosted glass doors were a selected finish (applied by Bellwood Homes) to match the interior design. The lighting within the lift adds to the elegant look seen from the bedroom and dressing rooms.

The Gartec HomeLift used within this project has ‘Bolon Sisal Plain Sand’ flooring which contributed to a light and airy feel within the lift, creating the look of carpet but that offers a long-lasting option. On the ground floor, the wooden flooring has continued to the shallow floor recess which mimics the quality of finishes throughout the rest of the house. The size of the lift is spacious enough to take 3-4 people and can carry up to 300kg. The lift colour used within this project was Traffic White (RAL9016) which blends in within the overall design scheme and will remain timeless.

Keith Perfect, Project Manager for Bellwood Homes commented, ‘This was the first project Bellwood Homes and Gartec have worked on together. Our experience with Gartec was good, they were informative, friendly and professional. Gartec offered a quick turnaround using a high-quality lift solution. It was important to have lifts within each of the four townhouses due to them being four storey and also one that would complement the design and quality of the rest of the houses. The Gartec lifts offered this and only required a short installation period carried out by two friendly engineers. I am pleased with the overall look of the lifts installed and they will contribute to the townhouses being desirable to a bigger market. We look forward to working together again.’
