Type of works: installed System 2000 to provide falls from height protection

Safesite has provided Frimley Park Hospital with falls from height protection in order to ensure safe access for maintenance and repair of plant and equipment situated on the hospital’s roofs.

Safesite has worked with Frimley Park over the years to ensure roof safety throughout the hospital’s site. The recent work has involved the installation of System 2000 as part of a ward extension in addition to the removal and replacement of previously installed systems whilst re-roofing work was being carried out.

System 2000 is the only BBA approved cantilever guardrail system and provides the ideal solution for where regular access is required. The guardrail’s freestanding design means that it does not need to be mechanically fixed to the roof itself. This overcomes the risk of damage to the roof’s membrane which can cause water penetration, costly repairs and insurance invalidation.

The System’s freestanding design also meant that previously installed systems could be easily removed where re-roofing work was to be carried out and then re-installed once the work was completed. For areas where the new roof was higher, Safesite re-tested and then simply adjusted the System where required.
