From design to waterproof and gasproof, Wykamol help again

The Wykamol group were asked by Altus Construction to help out with the waterproofing for a new build apartment building in Tooting, London. After analysing the site, a plan of action including specialist drawings to waterproof and gasproof the property was created.

Wykamol Technical Managers attended the site on various occasions to check on the progress and to help and advise on the installation of their 7 layer gas and structural waterproofing product Wykamol Bond. This product deals with all ground gases and any contaminants in the ground such as Hydrocarbons and Voc compounds but is also a full Type A waterproofing product.

Checks were made when this was being installed before the concrete slab and walls were poured. Once the structure was up to full finished levels, a Type C Cavity Drain Membrane system was installed. All checks included the drainage system as well as checking joints and seals of the system.

When it comes to a new build property, Wykamol can advise from a very early stage and also help out with the design element of the project. They can even hold the Pi insurance on the waterproofing design. The project benefited from a fully compliant Bs8102 scheme which then had a 10-year Nhbc warranty added.
