A trip to Hale Leys Shopping Centre includes activities for all ages – even outdoor play.

Hand Made Places worked with the retail destination to enhance its offering and widen its appeal. They did this by designing, manufacturing and installing a Townhill Multiplay Unit at the site.

The outside recreation spot also features a Double Traverse Wall and is finished with wooden play sculptures, all on bound rubber mulch surfacing.

Hale Leys Shopping Centre is in the centre of Aylesbury and sees itself as having a vital role to play in the regeneration of the town.

It wanted to offer something for all the family and approached Hand Made Place for a high quality, sustainable outdoor play solution.

The Townhill Multiplay Unit includes climbing towers, a rope bridge, fireman’s pole, cargo net and slide.

It is designed to challenge children in a safe environment, encouraging fun and active play, social interaction and supporting physical development.

The Double Traverse Wall is perfect for older children, adding an extra dimension to the play area by prompting youngsters to think critically about how to safely cross the equipment.

A beautifully crafted wooden Dragonfly and a Sheep Play Sculpture not only provide a sensory element to the playground, the also act as seating and balance beams.

The free outdoor play area complements indoor play facilities at Hale Leys.
