Furnitubes designed and manufactured bespoke Akri raised planter beds and integrated seating, framed in corten steel – which they chose for its long-term durability in outdoor environments.
It’s also a great choice where damage to the steelwork might occur. Planter units were sealed using a protective sealant in order to avoid staining on users’ clothing and the surrounding paving and surfaces.
Picnic table units were incorporated to provide adequate resting space for public use. Providing a whole range of new playing experiences, Russell Gardens has been transformed for the betterment and wellness of the local community.
The client Peabody was impressed with the result they commented: “Russell Road Playspace was our first project with Furnitubes and we were really impressed with their approach, demonstrating a keen understanding of the client’s requirements in developing the brief and designs with the project team to create a bespoke seating and boundary feature. The Furnitubes installation enriches the space and elevates it above being simply for play, attracting the whole community to use and enjoy the seating and picnic area. Since completion we have received many compliments about the space and how it’s now a highly valued space in the local community.”
