Gartec achieves perfect delivery on Wintringham Primary School with the Gartec PublicLift Access

The new sustainable Wintringham Primary school development was built to provide places for 700 pupils aged 3-11, based on a design inspiration of nature, plenty of green space, a project designed to achieve BREEAM and a goal to reduce carbon emissions.

This made the Gartec PublicLift Access an ideal selection due to its energy efficiency (using less energy than a domestic kettle to run with a 2.2kW motor and costs of approximately £25 per annum), it’s 95% recyclable properties and its material make up of 90% natural material used.

Furthermore, the beneficial installation process of minimal building works and short installation times of up to one week provides a real-time reduction in energy, labour and time used compared to a conventional lift, which contributed to the overall project’s main goals.

All Gartec lifts offer easy accessibility, with stylish designs and are available in a wide range of finishes and options which makes them an easy addition to any project.

The Gartec PublicLift Access school locking call system on the landing’s restricts access and misuse by students without a disability and hold to run operating system on the platform where the 1100 mm x 1480 mm platform moves quietly inside the enclosure, making it one of the safest accessibility solutions for school environments – even provided (as standard) with a safety edge to prevent against unnecessary injuries.

The Gartec PublicLift Access (designed and manufactured by our parent company Aritco) has proven popular in public and commercial spaces due to its versatility, where an indoor, outdoor or goods version can be selected dependent upon requirements, space and location within the project.

For schools, having these options can provide accessibility or remove stresses and strains of moving light equipment between floors. Additionally, the importance of promoting independence within a school environment can help towards confidence, which is vital through school years.

Achieving perfect delivery with Morgan Sindall Construction, working on the sustainable development was a pleasure and great to be recognised for excellent performance. The team at Gartec pride themselves on offering a simple and easy to work with approach with a sustainable and reliable offering.
