Located in a 120-year-old former bottle factory in Peckham, South East London, the London Coffee Factory is a coffee roastery using the latest roasting technology. The business promotes sustainability by eliminating emissions and operating on renewable energy.
Working closely with the design team, GEC Anderson was commissioned to measure, manufacture and install a series of bespoke stainless steel worktops and sinks for different areas of the coffee factory. The durability and sustainability of stainless steel aligned with the company's environmental commitments.
Bespoke stainless steel worktops and sinks
All the stainless steel worktops featured GEC Anderson's Edge 7 (40mm) profile and were manufactured to the required dimensions. The historic building presented several challenges, including pipework and irregular walls, requiring precise measurements and a tailored fit.
An Edge 10 (300mm) upstand was integrated into selected worktops, alongside two integrated sink bowls.
Specialist features for the cupping area
To meet the requirements of the cupping area, the worktops incorporated pop-up sockets, an integrated drip tray with a perforated lid and multiple integrated pitcher rinsers.
GEC Anderson also manufactured six brushed satin stainless steel mobile cabinets, each featuring three drawers and stainless steel castors. Recessed handles create a flush finish, maintaining a clean, functional appearance.
The cupping area also features GEC Anderson's three-part V90 stainless steel stepless shelving system, comprising shelves, uprights and brackets.
Brushed satin stainless steel finish
GEC Anderson's EN 1.4301 grade brushed satin stainless steel was used throughout the project, providing a consistent finish across the bespoke worktops, sinks, mobile cabinets and shelving.
The completed installation combines durable materials, tailored detailing and practical features to support the day-to-day operations of the London Coffee Factory.
