Gerflor boasts a global sporting legacy

Over 60 years’ experience in the manufacture of synthetic indoor sports flooring has made Gerflor a winner in the sporting arena with a wide portfolio to suit bespoke needs. Today, Gerflor’s Taraflex™ sports flooring is internationally approved and a preferred solution for many national and international sports governing bodies.

Gerflor, through IHF and FIVB agreements, supplied courts for handball and volleyball tournaments during the Olympic Games in London 2012. Taraflex™ is the most widely specified sports surface in the world; it has been selected for ten consecutive Olympic Games from Montreal in 1976 to London in 2012 for indoor surfaces like handball, volleyball, badminton and table tennis.

As well as providing specialist sports surfaces, Taraflex™ can be used for multi-use applications and is employed within community sports centres, schools, universities and other learning facilities. In total, 70,000 million square metres of Taraflex™ has been fitted in sports halls worldwide.

Taraflex™ Sport M Comfort caters for the needs of multi-sport venues with an impressive P3 classification. Taraflex™ Sport M Evolution and Taraflex™ Sport M Performance products offer P1 and P2 classifications. These classifications relate to point-elastic floor force reduction classes as per the European Standard. Taraflex™ Multi-Use 6.2 is compliant with EN 14904 - the key definition of the sports, technical and essential characteristics of a multi-sports floor - and is the ideal solution for multi-use venues. Innovative surface treatments contribute to exceptionally easy maintenance of the flooring and offer hygienic protection against fungus and bacteria.

Gerflor offers a number of installation solutions for Taraflex™, including fast track solutions that enable a sports floor to be laid within three days. Sports M (Eco-Fit) is a Taraflex™ sports floor that can be installed directly over the existing floor and can save 40% on flooring project cost and reduce downtime significantly. The Eco-Fit System allows fast, free floating installation while the Dry-Tex System enables installation onto humid subfloors. Low and high profile undercarriage systems are also available.

Outside the main sporting arena, Gerflor offers flooring solutions for gyms and health clubs. Creation Clic System is easily installed even while a club is open and can be used in most areas: the fitness suite, restaurant, bar, reception and corridors. GTI Fitness Tile offers similar benefits coupled with incredible durability and is perfect for free-weight environments. For changing rooms and corridors, the slip resistance of Tarasafe is ideal.
