Gilgen Awarded Prime MoD Scotland Door Contract

Gilgen Awarded Prime MoD Scotland Door Contract

Gilgen Door Systems has been awarded a major contract through Carillon Amey to maintain and repair industrial doors and shutters across 67 Ministry of Defence (MoD) facilities in Scotland. The three year contract covers some 1752 doors of various types and is designed to provide the MoD with more consistent service levels, improved door uptime and greater efficiency across its operations in Scotland.

Efficient industrial doors and shutters are vital to MoD facilities, many of which are in exposed locations at the mercy of high winds, driving rain and snow. To ensure maximum uptime, safety and efficiency, Gilgen Door Systems will assess each door and provide annual maintenance visits tailored to the door condition and operational environment. The company will also provide 24/7 rapid breakdown response and repairs through its professionally qualified team of engineers.

UK Managing Director, David Cerquella explains “We are delighted with our success in Scotland and to ensure delivery to agreed service levels we have recruited three additional engineers to our service team. We are also equipping our engineers with new GPS tracked service vans, a new electronic planning system and PDA devices for improved communications.” Each Gilgen engineer is fully vetted for MoD work and receives intensive training to ensure industrial doors are maintained to BS EN 12453:2001 standards.
