Wye College, in the heart of Wye village in Kent, has a remarkable history. It was founded in 1447 by Cardinal John Kempe. Originally established to train priests and educate local boys, it later became a renowned agricultural college, part of the University of London and eventually Imperial College.

After closing in 2009, its Grade I and Grade II listed Medieval and Edwardian buildings stood empty for over a decade. They have now been transformed into The Wye College Collection, a development of 50 sensitively restored, unique, luxury residences.

Clement Windows Group was delighted to manufacture and install the new steel windows and doors required for a number of the new homes. Our experience with Listed Buildings was particularly valuable in producing the replacement fenestration. We crafted genuine leaded light windows which were fitted directly to the beautiful stone frames and above these, we installed SMW steel fall back windows that were bottom hung and opened inwards. The steel double door sets were manufactured from W20 steel profiles. Everything was designed to closely match the original fenestration with silicone fronting.

Clement SMW and W20 bespoke steel windows and doors are manufactured from hot rolled steel profiles, which are produced from 98% recycled steel source material, generally in compliance with BS 6510 Revision 10 Nov 2020. Hot dip zinc galvanised to EN ISO BS:1461, with a polyester powder coat finish to BS:6497 2005 EN 13438 2018. Certified to ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management).
