Client: Goldsmiths University, London
Type of works: supply of 1,500 sqm of CEP Sequence, Classcare perforated and ClasscarePLUS acoustic tiles

Goldsmiths University London has unveiled its New Academic Building which is home to two world leading academic departments, Media and Communications and the Institute for Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship is situated at the top of college green.

The new academic building designed to reflect the function of the building with its bright eye-catching facade representing ‘pixels’ has received a BRE Environmental rating of “excellent” for its low impact on the environment.

Approximately 1,500 sqm of CEP Sequence, Classcare perforated and ClasscarePLUS acoustic tiles were supplied to the 250 seat lecture theatre and associated facilities, plus the café and inside meeting spaces and circulation areas providing a contemporary feel which is light and airy with lots of glass, clean hard surfaces and high ceilings.

Classcare perforated is ideally suited to most educational suspended ceiling situations, with excellent room to room sound attenuation properties and of high acoustic absorption

Classcare Plus utilises the same durable, high density baseboard as the standard Classcare tiles but with an acoustic fleece bonded to the face. This creates a clean, crisp unbroken surface suitable for almost any environment without detracting from the impressive sound absorption and attenuation performance

CEP Ceilings Ltd offers a full range of suspended ceilings and acoustic systems as well as GRG mouldings from their UK bases in Frome and Stafford.
