Gramm barrier has taken up the design, manufacturing and installation of a robust maintenance free Acoustic Barrier for Network Rail.
Due to the expansion of the platform at Rainham Train Station, Network rail were receiving complaints from local residents regarding the visual impact and levels of noise caused by the additional carriages on the trains. This was a high priority case for NWR, which required a system that would act as a noise barrier, as well as a security fence.
The brief called for the design and installation of a robust maintenance free Acoustic Barrier that could also act as a security fence. They also instructed us to produce design calculations, Drawings and Certificates for our Noise Barrier System.
Gramm’s main challenge for this project was the access and working in a rail environment. The barrier also run alongside the residents’ private access road so additional care and consideration had to be taken.
