Gripdeck chosen for Shotley Railway Pier restoration project

Gripdeck chosen for Shotley Railway Pier restoration project

The 122-year-old Shotley Railway Pier began its restoration project back in July 2020, after falling into disrepair at the beginning of the 21st century.

After a fund-raising campaign, Shotley Heritage Charitable Community Benefit Society Ltd purchased the pier and began the much-needed restoration.

Gripdeck were selected to supply their standard grey bauxite aggregate anti-slip inserts to the reclaimed FSC Greenheart timber, supplied by Ashwells Timber.

The renovation will ensure that the pier remains working, allowing access for people to enjoy for the foreseeable future.
