As part of Fulham Football Club's landmark Riverside Stand redevelopment at Craven Cottage, Gripsure supplied a high-performance anti-slip decking solution for one of London's most ambitious sports and leisure destinations.

The £100 million transformation has reimagined the historic riverside stadium, creating Fulham Pier – a year-round destination combining premium hospitality, restaurants, public spaces and a new riverside promenade overlooking the River Thames.

Designed by Populous and Stuart Forbes Associates, the development required external materials capable of delivering outstanding aesthetics, durability and safety in a demanding, high-footfall environment.

High-performance anti-slip decking

Working alongside The Outdoor Deck Company, Gripsure's anti-slip technology was integrated into MOSO® Bamboo X-treme decking throughout the riverside promenade and external terrace areas.

Around 1,782m² of bamboo decking was installed, with Gripsure's double anti-slip inserts specified for the busiest pedestrian routes. These provide enhanced slip resistance in all weather conditions while preserving the natural appearance of the bamboo.

Designed for demanding public spaces

The project required a solution capable of withstanding constant pedestrian traffic, exposure to the riverside environment and the operational requirements of the venue, including areas designed to accommodate service vehicles and food trucks.

The decking was installed on a Buzon pedestal system, allowing access to services beneath the deck while providing accurate level adjustment across the complex external spaces.

Safe and durable riverside surfaces

By combining the strength and durability of MOSO® Bamboo X-treme with Gripsure's proven anti-slip technology, the finished installation delivers a safe, attractive and long-lasting surface that can support thousands of visitors throughout the year.

The result is a contemporary public space that complements the architectural vision of Fulham Pier while providing confidence underfoot in both wet and dry conditions.
