Guardian UK's three day coater launch event was a tremendous success. The uptake for the event was exceptional, with an almost continuous flow of attendees visiting the plant over the three days. We were very glad to see not only direct customers attending the visit, but also many independent companies who are selling Guardian products supplied to them by our direct customers.
Opening the plant up for three days so attendees could drop in provided the perfect platform to show off the new Guardian investment.
This enabled us to take everyone around the glass coater showing the production line and its advanced capabilities in small groups giving ample time to answer questions and explain the in-depth process of magnetron sputter coating.
For many though, it wasnt just the glass coater which was of interest, with many customers and companies involved in the downstream distribution chain attending, many were also keen to look around the float line and at our state of the laminating facility, providing a complete picture of the process showing everything from the raw sand and batch material, through the float glass process to laminating and the coating of glass with our new - next generation Low E ClimaGuard A+ on annealed float in sizes all the way up to Jumbo.
We also took this opportunity to demonstrate to the customers and visitors our new Guardian Plus programme, showing them how the programme worked and demonstrating the Guardian Plus business support centre live. We are pleased to say that over the three day open event 36 of the attendees joined the programme with most of the other attendees already signed up prior to their visit, Guardian Plus allows their businesses to be promoted online and provides access to the Guardian Plus business support centre.
Overall, the coater launch event was a magnificent success and we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to visit us at Goole. We would also like to thank all of the Guardian employers who worked so hard to make the three day event such a success.
