In this beautiful private country home; the clients wanted a wood floor to respect the history of the building but with a modern twist.

The TW-E931 herringbone was an ideal choice, the 120mm wide by 600mm long boards create a large statement herringbone parquet pattern without overpowering the room. It also subtly showcases the advancements in modern engineered parquet floors.

The deep fumed Oak creates a warm tone, with the added benefit of being the same colour throughout the top layer, this means the surface scratches can be easily repaired.

In accordance with BS8201:2011, the fitters laid the crown line for the herringbone in a focal point. This acts as the straight guide line for the rest of the floor and is vitally important. Once the crown line was laid and set, the rest of the flooring could be easily and quickly installed.

Using The Solid Wood Flooring Company’s SW-890 adhesive, the flooring is fully bonded to the subfloor, it will be able to handle the under floor heating system and keep the floor boards under control, allowing some movement for expansion and contraction.

Once the parquet was fitted and the glue cured, it was given a clean down using Blanchon Natural Soap colourless. This floor has now been fitted for sometime and is being enjoyed by the owners and most importantly Banjo the dog.
