Comar Architectural Aluminium Systems, worked with its approved fabricator PAGE Group (Peterborough) Ltd, for this new-build hospital supplying Comar 2 window walling, Comar 5P.i thermally broken windows, Comar 6 curtain walling and Comar 7 automatic and swing doors.

To meet the architect’s requirements Comar 5P.i top-hung windows were installed with Securistyle espagnolette in-line handles. Comar 5P.i is available in a variety of configurations and can be manufactured into casement, pivot, horizontal and vertical sliding, tilt-and-turn and top swing fully reversible windows.

To create light and give a striking glazed front façade, entrance assembly and stairwells for Hertford Hospital, Comar 6 stick-build (step cut) curtain walling was installed. Comar 6 offers a slim 50mm sight line with a multitude of transoms and mullions to cater for all deflection loads and configurations.

For the entrances both Comar 7 automatic and swing doors were selected. Comar 7 commercial door sets are a natural choice, not only are they available in swing, pivot, sliding, auto-sliding and sliding/folding, they have been designed specifically for commercial applications where high traffic solutions are required. AXIM concealed overhead closers with a 90 degree hold open facility and anti finger-trap stiles were fitted and provided easy disabled access to comply with the DDA.

All the Comar systems were finished in a White Gloss RAL 9910 polyester powder-coating. This project featured toughened soft coat glass.

All Comar approved fabricators are required to have the technical expertise to attend pre-site meetings and provide detailing. PAGE Group (Peterborough) Ltd liased closely with the specifiers to provide design advice and detailing which ensured the project ran smoothly and met site deadlines.
