LightTower by Hettich, is a new illuminated tower storage solution bringing a practical and striking twist to drawer-based storage in kitchens, bedrooms and other living spaces.
More than 2,000 people visited Hettich’s stand at KBB in Birmingham in early March, 2024 and almost without exception they were drawn to LightTower, the new Glass version of which launched at the event.
For new projects and retrofit, LightTower comprises five pre-assembled drawer boxes, with runners and internal fronts, and a choice of five widths up to 1200 mm. Installation is straightforward.
LightTower is envisaged either behind a cabinet/sliding door in a kitchen larder scenario, or revealed as an attractive addition in a dressing room, for example.
Storage up to eye level is most effective when based on drawers, according to Hettich. This is in terms of ergonomics, convenience and the visibility of whatever is stored, from pots, pans and groceries to socks and t-shirts.
Each drawer is illuminated automatically when opened. Delivery of the even, 4,000K light requires no complicated connections. The light set simply clips on the drawer side profiles, while a practical, rechargeable battery pack adheres to the rear panel. One charge a year via USB is all that’s needed for regular users.
Hettich, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of furniture fittings, offers LightTower with both solid and glass-sided drawer options.
LightTower is based on Hettich’s exceptional AvanTech YOU drawer platform. This means smooth, effortless drawer opening and closing is assured thanks to high-quality 30 kg runners, and installation is easy. LightTower comes with a jig to help mark up the cabinet for fitting the runners with precision.
Hinges are an additional option where existing hinges do not provide the zero door protrusion required for the drawers to slide open unhindered.
The family-owned Hettich Group has its origins in the 1800s and is today one of the world’s largest manufacturers of furniture fittings, headquartered in Germany, with over 8,000 staff members with presence in nearly 80 countries. Hettich UK joined the Group in 1990.
Within a broad product portfolio, Hettich today develops, manufactures and sells drawer and runner systems, hinges, as well as folding and sliding door fittings for kitchens, bathrooms, offices and all living spaces.
