High security roller shutters enhance security at Young Offenders Unit

Gilgen Door Systems UK Ltd has installed Rolegard high security roller shutter doors at Kyloe House, a high security young offenders unit in Morpeth, Northumberland.

Gilgen Door Systems provided two LPS 1175 (issue 7), level 3 high security shutters as part of the new vehicle dock extension used for the transfer of residents. Installed in succession, interlocked and featuring a remote operating system, the roller shutters provide an effective vehicle flow solution and ensure a secure area is maintained. The interlock system installed prevents the opening of a shutter if the other is in use and the control panel is situated in a separate area to prevent unauthorised access reducing the security risks to a minimum.

Kevan Barker, Installations Manager, Gilgen Door Systems Industrial Door Department said “We were chosen for our ability to provide a high security solution tailored to meet the requirements of the unit”

The level 3 high security shutters are part of the new Gilgen Rolegard high security shutter range and protects against deliberate forced entry. Tested and approved to LPS 1175 (issue 7), they provide compliance with insurance and Police Preferred specifications and Secured By Design standards.

Gilgen Door Systems has over 50 years international experience in the design, manufacture and installation of a leading range of industrial and commercial door systems. With regional centres across the UK, Gilgen also offers a nationwide 24hr repair and maintenance service
