Hot Melt Waterproofing System at Giant’s Causeway

Hot Melt Waterproofing System at Giant’s Causeway

Alumasc’s Hydrotech Hot Melt Waterproofing System has been used on the roof of the new National Trust Visitor Centre at the Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland.

The Hydrotech system, which has had zero product failures in over 50 years of use worldwide, was specified. Most waterproofing products need to be installed in one go, but the versatile nature of Hydrotech, meant it was ideal for the stop/start nature of the installation, due to the heavy wind and rain.

The new Visitor Centre is part of an £18.5m investment at the site and boasts a striking design, inspired by the bold material and geometric lines of the Causeway itself.
