An award-winning small development of Georgian-style townhouses in a Grade II-listed streetscape features bespoke cast stone door surrounds, cills, some heads and copings at roof level from Pennine Stone, a subsidiary of UKCSA member Haddonstone.
Cast stone has been a familiar and much used alternative to natural stone in the UK since Georgian times.
Built on the site of a Victorian former school, the Taylor Wimpey North Thames development of 11 homes in Colebrooke Row, Islington, has restored the elegant sequence of the Georgian streetscape. The development picked up awards in the Best Large Family Home, Best Small Family Home, and Best Small Development categories at the London Evening Standard New Homes Awards ceremony in May.
Duncan Jackson of Taylor Wimpey North Thames said: The Colebrook Collection lies within a beautiful conservation area which required everyone involved to draw upon specialist skills and ensure each detail was in keeping with the unique location, while at the same time providing all the modern comforts that todays homebuyers look for.
