When a major housebuilder in Devon planned a new development, Wykamol were chosen to help waterproof the homes built into the hillside.
Plans and designs were carried out by the Wykamol design team, some 12 months prior to building works starting, including 13 specialist drawings all free of charge from Wykamol.
The scheme required a NHBC approved design which required a dual waterproofing scheme.
The design incorporated Sure proof for the external leaves, a Type A BBA approved self-adhesive membrane system which also included a specialist primer for the walls first.
As well as a Type C cavity Drain membrane system for the internal walls linked with a perimeter channel system draining to natural drainage with jetting eyes for maintaining this system.
Regular checks are being made by Jon Watkins technical manager for the Southwest and these site visits are invaluable for the builder to keep an eye out on any potential issues and to sign off 5 properties at a time.
In total 26 homes have been completed on Phase 1 with 3 more phases to go which Wykamol’s waterproofing systems will be used on.
The engineering team at Wykamol who can look at projects and design appropriate waterproofing measures work on projects across the UK from small domestic homes to 6 storey mammoth basement structures.
The ability to attend site on regular meetings and site inspection visits means the clients can be assured that the project will go as planned with no nasty surprises.
