Cyclepods designed two sets of Island Spacepods with elongated glass canopies at the Doncaster Civic Centre.

The client wanted something that would really stand out to encourage others to the Civic Centre whilst accommodate their existing cyclists.

A striking design based on an amalgamation of two of their products, the Spacepod and the Cyclepod, was created.

Using 98 Spacepods and 2 Cyclepod units, they created two ‘islands’ of bike storage, each boasting 57 bike spaces. The products were also provided in a matt grey finish which added a more professional look.

The uneven surface was combated by designing the islands on a stepped base, meaning that costly levelling did not need to be carried out by the client.

The whole project was completed in 5 days and has provided Doncaster with a proud addition to their Civic Centre, and hopefully motivated more people to cycle to and from the centre.
