Blue Phoenix UK supplied over 6000 tonnes of 0/14mm fines material to Series 600 Class 1A specification for the construction of 4 piling mats at Roscommon Way, Canvey Island, Essex.

The project was the development of industrial and commercial units with landscaping access and parking.

The material was delivered in approximately 20 tonne loads, supplied from Blue Phoenix UK’s Tilbury Dock facility and placed using a dozer, and then compacted using a Bomag 120 vibrating roller.

More than 300 piles were then driven to a depth of up to 20 metres using a 69-tonne rig for the first 2 units.

Blue Phoenix UK’s products are up to 25% lighter than typical piling mat products, therefore saving costs against haulage, placing time, total volume required and carbon footprint impact on the project.
