In response to the persistent challenges posed by icy and snowy conditions at the Lincoln Police HQ,, an innovative solution was implemented by Heated Driveway Systems to ensure safe access for personnel and visitors.
The project involved the installation of seven ice and snow melting cables strategically positioned on steps and a wheelchair access ramp leading to the main entrance of the police building. To seamlessly integrate these cables into the existing infrastructure, they were covered with concrete and paving slabs on the steps, while the ramp and adjacent area were surfaced with durable tarmac.
With a total electrical load of 31KW, the system's operation is efficiently managed by a state-of-the-art HDS fully automatic ice and snow melting control system. This advanced control mechanism utilises two ground moisture sensors and one air temperature sensor to accurately gauge environmental conditions and activate the melting system as needed.
By employing cutting-edge technology in combination with effective installation techniques, the Lincoln Police Headquarters has significantly enhanced safety and accessibility, ensuring uninterrupted operations even during harsh winter weather conditions.
