Igloo updates washrooms at historic Broughton Castle

Igloo Washrooms was specified to provide a high quality washroom design which would reflects the prestige of the privately owned, historic Broughton Castle in Oxfordshire.

The project aimed to improve the efficiency and environmental impact of the washrooms and to improved performance during the cold winter months when the poorly insulated building was not in use.

Using two of the most advanced wood products available, the Shaker style wall panels were constructed using Accoya and Tricoya because of their superior performance qualities. The wall panels and doors were made bespoke to suit the existing layout.

Igloo also installed large (600 x 600) hard wearing porcelain tiles with a slip rating of R13 to ensure maximum safety for users stepping straight in from outside where it might be wet. They also improved the lighting and air extraction and supplied LED down lights on PIR sensor controls including emergency lighting.

New granite worktops with under counter basins with infrared taps and dual flush cisterns were supplied. Duct panelling was installed to conceal the cisterns.
