IGLOOS Washrooms is a specialist contractor in washroom design, manufacture, refurbishment and new build in all venues. They are one of a new generation that are raising the status of the washroom as an integral feature of interior design. The innovative use of products and materials answers technical, ecological and design demands.
IGLOOS has developed its own line of cubicle systems, including an Active range, used for sporting environments and a Bespoke range for the more exclusive projects. Using its own cubicle systems, IGLOOS Washrooms has recently completed some exciting projects including a 70s Rollerdisco, a sophisticated restaurant, and a multi-storey building in the heart of London.
The Rollerdisco project involved enhancing the main ladies loos area using a pink colour scheme and taking great consideration for users on roller skates! The design had to incorporate a 70s theme and be in keeping with the current design of the club. This project was a Bespoke design which included Hot Pink cubicle doors with a wavy White pilaster and a mirror mosaic surrounding the main vanity mirror in which lights were incorporated to complement the disco atmosphere in the main hall.
The central London project was at the YMCA, it involved re-designing an existing unisex washroom area on the 14th floor into separate male/female facilities, whilst overcoming the problematic drainage and plumbing connections and replacing baths with showers. IGLOOS Active cubicles were installed as being the most suitable solution for the environment. Work has now commenced on two more areas within the same building.
The final project was a well established smoked salmon factory that has a sophisticated restaurant and events venue overlooking the Olympics 2012 site. The brief included keeping an industrial feel whilst creating a sleek, easy to maintain washroom. The design of the rooms made use of the high curved ceilings and exposed ventilation pipes with a seamless cubicle system with additional height.
