Improved operations with Megadoor shipyard hangar door

Pendennis Falmouth chose a shipyard hangar door from Assa Abloy Entrance Systems to improve operations, increase business, and save on energy costs.

The existing doors at Pendennis shipyard were difficult to open due to corrosion, rust and clogged floor tracks. The shipyard needed an entrance solution that was easy to operate and had a maximum width clear opening that would resist the high winds in the area.

They wanted to make use of natural light, reduce energy costs and carbon footprint, as well as using their waterfront location to increase its brand recognition.

The now installed Megadoor shipyard hangar door is designed to withstand winds of over 100 mph, is easy to operate and its translucent fabric increases natural light into the building, reducing energy costs and enhancing working conditions.

The door gives a clear opening to the full width of the dock and has no floor tracks.

Pendennis placed a logo sized 20 meters x 8 meters on the door fabric to enhance its brand allowing anyone entering the Falmouth harbor to see it.
