One-stop solutions from Armacell, the market leader, are ideal for flexible technical insulation materials.
With ever more stringent thermal and environmental performance requirements, installers can only be confident that insulation materials will perform if they use the accessories specifically developed and tested by the manufacturer for compatibility with their products.
All these elements in combination – quality insulation material and accessories as well as professional installation - are necessary to guarantee long-term protection against condensation and ensure outstanding energy efficiency. This joined-up approach will also maximise the service life of the installation.
Armacell has always offered a wide range of specially developed installation accessories for its high performance insulation materials. The company also offers Accredited Installer Training at its Oldham facility to teach contractors best practices for working with Armaflex products on site.
The company remains committed to ongoing investment in all these areas, helping customers achieve reliability, efficiency and service-life benefits from their technical installations.
The latest of these innovations are new solvent-free cleaners and reduced solvent adhesives, which were developed specifically to address the needs of sustainable construction projects.
Incompatible products can lead to technical issues, for instance, seams may open if non-system adhesives are applied and the incorrect cleaner and paints may damage the insulation. Conversely, system components that are correctly installed by certified installers achieve the highest reliability and performance.
Professional gluing is essential for high reliability
Armaflex insulation materials not only have good technical properties, they are also particu¬larly user friendly because of they are flexible materials. However, it is crucial that elastomeric materials are glued and sealed properly using the adhesive supplied or recommended by the manufacturer.
Armacell provides a complete range of Armaflex adhesives and the choice depends on the Armaflex materials used and the specific requirements of the project in question. Alongside the tried-and-tested standard adhesives, Armacell offers a range of new products that set new standards in the installation of elastomeric insulation materials.
The thixotropic, non-drip Armaflex RS850 high-performance adhesive can be applied more quickly and neater than standard adhe¬sives and releases only minimal amounts of solvents when idle. It also has a long shelf-life of 3 years.
Another new addition to the range of accessories is a solvent-free cleaner: Armaflex SF cleaner that can be used to clean soiled surfaces of technical installations as well as the surface of insulation materials, ensuring perfect adhesion. The cleaner is supplied in a practical spray bottle so that it can be applied precisely.
Armaflex Ultima and Armaflex Rail SD, synthetic rubber insulation materials based on the innovative Armaprene technology, require the use of adhesives that have been specially formulated for this type of foam. For these materials too, Armacell offers, in addition to the standard Armaflex Ultima 700 adhesive, a gel-like, non-drip product (Armaflex Ultima RS850 adhesive).
To enhance reliability and quality in technical insulation, Armacell has been investing in the training of the trade for decades. In Northern Europe alone the company trains around 1,200 professional craftsmen in the installation of its products every year.
A key message from Armacell, therefore, is that: specifiers and installers shouldn’t overlook the importance of only using accessories that have been recommended by the insulation manufacturer.
