The construction of the new St Xaviers Primary School in Patna, East Ayrshire called for a discreet security solution that offered maximum protection to the glazed facades when the building was closed, without detracting from the initial design proposal.
The Integr8 180C Security shutter system was utilised as the system is easily adaptable to any surrounding trades, in this case the glazing system, without any comprise on the security. The main elevation of the school incorporated an attractive curved facade that required detailed design of the shutters to ensure correct interfacing, all carried out by Charters in-house design team.
In addition to the high security requirement the client required shutters that offered vision and airflow through the shutter curtain; a combination of the Compact and Vissio20 lath profiles were selected from the Charter range of curtain styles to meet this requirement.
With a large quantity of shutters, the final shutter control requires forethought to ensure the client will be able to easily operate the shutters on a daily basis. With the experience built up over many similar past project Charter put forward a Remote control operation on the project, eliminating the need for complicated on-site wiring, whilst offering the client a versatile multi zoned control solution.
