Intelligent Membranes worked on this new build project in Cumbria, perfect for the airtight qualities of passive purple!
Background
No real difficulty was experienced during this install, the substrate was nice and sound. However, the install took longer than usual due to the cold weather affecting the drying times of Passive Purple, which is water based.
Solutions
Passive Purple Brush is the star of the show in this install. Every base has been covered in the airtight membrane. The wall connections need to be made airtight, so it's all about the preparation works, especially when the connections are made of two different types of construction materials.
Results
The achievement of a 0.45 ach (air changes per hour) score underlines the potential of modern techniques to transform new builds into energy - efficient structures. In the future, liquid applied membranes will play a pivotal role in addressing energy consumption, reducing carbon emissions, and enhancing the quality and sustainability of the built environment.
