The project.
With an aim to equip every student with the knowledge, learning power and character necessary for success in all aspects of life, Isaac Newton Academy needed to ensure they gave their students the very best facilities possible in every area.
When it came to the school's washroom refurbishment, the area needed to be as secure and private as possible for students whilst looking bright and inviting to use and also offer easy supervision of the communal areas.
The challenge.
Located in Ilford, Isaac Newton Academy opened its doors in 2012 as part of the ARK Schools group. Rated outstanding by OFSTED, it is a high-achieving, non-selective school that accommodates both boys and girls aged between 11 and 18 years.
Skanska managed the design and build of the Academy and the unisex washroom facility was located in an open area and had to be easy to supervise, offering complete visual and audible privacy for the pupils.
The solution.
Venesta's Unity toilet cubicle system was chosen by the client. Unity's seamless, flush-fronted design and full height doors, allowing for total privacy, made it the perfect choice.
Unity also has a low floor clearance for added privacy and robust stainless steel fittings, making the toilet cubicles hardwearing and durable for those bustling school washrooms.
The indicator bolt has a discreet emergency release provision, making it the ideal choice for education environments, where safety is paramount. These cleverly designed indicator bolts mean emergency access can be gained without the need of removing or damaging the cubicle doors.
