James Latham provide new fire doors for old London Church

James Latham provide new fire doors for old London Church

The Scenario

The crypt of Nicholas Hawksmoor’s Grade 1 listed Church was once used as a storage facility and over time, the space had been subdivided into a series of different rooms. The brief was to convert this space into a multi-purpose area for events, performances and board meetings as well as to incorporate a fully operational café.

The Solution

Dow Jones, an award-winning, RIBA Chartered practice based in London, with a reputation for producing well-crafted, conceptually clear architecture was awarded the contract and their team worked with specialist joinery company Icklesham Joinery Limited who handled the fit-out.

The Result

The client said: "The impressive Moralt FireSmoke 54mm core doors, which have a European Oak veneer applied, have certainly become a warm welcome statement. To be able to complement a historic Grade 1 listed building such as this with a modern, highly technical solution is a challenge in itself but we are very proud of the end result. I have always been impressed with Lathams extensive range of performance door blank solutions."
