Client: Hallmark Healthcare
Type of works: supply and installation of Elgin Marble wall tiles.
Tiles from the stylish Elgin Marble collection from British Ceramic Tile have been selected by Hallmark Healthcare for their new flagship care home, Kew House in Wimbledon.
The stylish interiors at Kew House have been designed to project an atmosphere of elegance and tranquillity. The Elgin Marble wall tiles were installed in the en-suite showers in the Suites and Platinum bedrooms and also to the assisted bathrooms. This classical collection has a contemporary twist and is inspired by the timeless elegance of marble.
Jacqueline Farguson, Design Manager explained their choice of tile. Colour and style were important elements of our selection process as we wanted to create en suite showers with a warm feel. This was particularly important for our assisted bathrooms where it is essential that residents enjoy a special bathing experience.
Elgin Travertine field tiles provide a light, natural marble look with contrasting geometric frieze tiles to add a contemporary feel. A mix of Elgin Marbles Cream/Rosso Marble Strip and Elgin Rosso field tiles provide a rich hue. In some of the rooms, Elgin Marbles Crema Marfil, which emulates a light Cream marble, is lifted by warm tones of Elgin Marbles Marron Field tiles. An elegant, eye-catching Cream and Brown Marble strip was also used to in order to break up the pattern.
Kew House represents an £11 million investment and offers residents contemporary facilities including a complementary therapy and treatment room, hair and beauty salon and a cinema room.
