Kingspan Access Floors is installing over 17,000 sq m of access flooring in the second phase of the Forbury Place development, Reading’s newest urban business district.

The order, placed through main contractors Galliford Try PLC, follows on from Kingspan installing the same volume of floor panels in the first phase of Forbury Place in 2015. Being developed by M&G Real Estate and Bell Hammer, Forbury Place is transforming the area and is already an established hub for business.

The new building in phase 2 will provide Category A office space over seven floors to be built on top of a basement car park already established in phase one. Kingspan Contracts’ work on installing the RMG 600 panels on all floors of the building began in December and is due to be completed by March 2017.

No 2 Forbury Place will feature energy efficiency measures and Low and Zero Carbon technologies such as air source heat pumps, a Micro Combined Heat & Power unit and photovoltaic panels to help minimise CO2 emissions. The building is designed to achieve a target BREEAM “Excellent” rating.
