Knauf Drywall Aims To Build A Better Space

Knauf Drywall is offering a fresh approach for specifiers, contractors and merchants as they prepare for the next growth cycle in construction. Already planning more additions to its growing range of innovative solutions for walls, floors and ceilings, Knauf Drywall is also out to change traditional perceptions of dry lining and partitioning by promoting its range of systems for creating modern spaces.

Explaining the change, Knauf Drywall Marketing Communications Manager Tanuja Kiley says: “We are building on the strength of our systems portfolio, showing how one company can provide quality ‘dry’ solutions for the internal and external walls, floors and ceilings that define the space in which people live and work. We have summed this up in our new strapline ‘Building a better space’.”

Tanuja Kiley says the new approach, coupled with the expanding product range, makes it easier across the industry because specifiers and contractors need fewer sources of materials and technical support, while for merchants it’s an opportunity to sell a more comprehensive package of Knauf-branded solutions with full system warranties. “With this greater synergy, our innovative, integrated systems provide excellent solutions for virtually every application,” she says.

“When the building industry enters its next growth phase, the demand will be for smarter combinations of solutions that interface together seamlessly, combining ease of installation and guaranteed whole room performance,” says Tanuja Kiley. “We are continuously looking at new products that will increase the choices across the building supply chain, ultimately giving contractors more opportunity to deliver the best solutions, with each complete Knauf Drywall system covered by our full warranty.”

Knauf Drywall, as part of a global organisation with a reputation for innovation, has already begun to challenge traditional ways in building – with systems such as Knauf Brio Dry Floor Screed contributing significantly to the energy efficiency of underfloor heating installations, its range of Apertura Cleaneo ceiling boards providing both decorative and acoustically superior solutions and its machine applied plasters producing high-quality finishes in a fraction of the time of conventional hand-applied products. It also offers the Aquapanel family of interior and exterior cementitious dry solutions.

“Plasterboard partitioning systems remain at the core of our business,” says Tanuja Kiley, “but they are much more than just convenient wall linings. They define space and improve it significantly by providing added resistance to sound, fire, moisture and impact in line with requirements of the Building Regulations and building guidelines for the education and healthcare sectors.”

Knauf Drywall manufactures a full range of plasters, plasterboards, insulating laminates, dry flooring, drywall accessories, and metal sections for domestic, commercial and public sector applications. Knauf Drywall pioneered carbon neutral plasterboard in the UK with Knauf Futurepanel. Knauf Drywall also actively promotes recycling from building sites and has a zero waste policy in its energy efficient factories at Sittingbourne in Kent and Immingham on Humberside.
