KONE chosen for 122 Leadenhall

122 Leadenhall is a building of global firsts, boasting the world’s largest and fastest suite of panoramic lifts. But the real stunner is the design – nothing comparable has ever been attempted before.

Year: 2014
Location: London, GB
Solutions: 24 KONE MiniSpace™ scenic lifts, 2 KONE MiniSpace™ lifts, 6 KONE TransitMaster™ 120 escalators, 2 customised platform lifts, KONE Polaris™ Destination Control System, KONE E-Link™ monitoring system

Structural expressionism
The Leadenhall Building is the latest iconic addition to the London skyline. A masterpiece in the making since 2011, the project was one of the most challenging and rewarding for KONE. The design and technical integration of the panoramic lifts was central to the architecture. Every component was under the radar. The visual design, technical solutions and strategy for delivery were developed in parallel with the architects.

Inside-out masterpiece
122 Leadenhall is truly a showpiece, as KONE's equipment is 100 percent visible from outside. Pedestrian traffic can look up and see nothing but a perfectly empty shaft. KONE escalators provide seamless transition into the reception area and everyone who enters can see the internal components moving and ticking.
