KONE uses IoT to deliver a superior experience

The Internet of Things (IoT) has captivated the attention of the technology and business community. Owner of some of Stockholm’s most exclusive buildings, Humlegården Fastigheter is already on board with this technology and is participating in a pilot for KONE’s 24/7 Connected Services.

Humlegården’s clients expect only the best. In order to avoid lift hassles, they approached KONE in 2016, seeking intelligent technology to predict issues before they happen. Humlegården, had already been one of KONE’s key clients for over a decade and was a keen adopter of new technologies.

Those factors led to what would be one of the first pilots of 24/7 Connected Services, with KONE, Humlegården and IBM working together to develop a powerful new application for IoT through KONE’s 24/7 Connected Services system which provide predictive maintenance services.

The system enables preventive maintenance to minimise downtime and repairs and also utilises smart solutions to minimise the number of unplanned stops. What’s more, it also maximises the life cycle of the installed equipment.
