Kuraray Trosifol webinar series continues

Free web seminars from Trosifol designed for architects, planners and engineers are carrying on throughout December. There are many exciting upcoming topics in the webinars, which will be presented and introduced by Trosifol experts.

Designing hurricane resistant glazing systems - Thursday December 3rd 2pm

Hosted by Jennifer Schneider who has worked in the laminated glass industry for over 14 years and is currently the Structural and Security Glazing Market Manager for Kuraray.

She has been involved in the development, commercialization, and marketing of new interlayers for laminated glass for both automotive and architectural applications.

Jennifer has a vast degree of experience in understanding the relationship between polymer properties and laminated glass performance.

This hour long seminar will cover how hurricane resistant glazing systems combine impact resistant glass into a framing system with the main purpose of maintaining the integrity of the building envelope by resisting the forces of high winds and rain as well as resisting high impact forces of windborne debris.

The presentation will review codes and standards as well as key factors when designing hurricane glazing systems.

Glazing Solutions and Innovations with Laminated Glass for Buildings – Thursday December 10th 4:30am

This webinar is hosted by Phillip Davies who is a Consultant on Architectural Market Development and Customer Technical Service for the Kuraray Australia & New Zealand Trosifol® World of interlayers business.

He has been involved with the laminated glass industry since 1978 and has extensive experience in all facets of architectural laminated glass from manufacturing through to installation.
He holds an honours degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of New South Wales and during his career acquired.

This hour long seminar will discuss how laminated safety glass has been well accepted throughout the world for its multifunctional benefits as a glazing material for buildings and especially for its post breakage integrity.

In the last twenty years understanding of the true strength of laminated glass has enabled the application of structural laminated glass interlayers to reduce the weight of building facades and to provide enhanced security against man made and natural disasters.

This presentation reviews the glazing solutions for buildings provided by laminated glass together with recent innovations in interlayer technology.

Noise control in Buildings with Laminated Glass – Wednesday 16th December 5:30am

This webinar is hosted by Aiden Jung, Senior Marketing Representative in Korea & ANZ. Aiden is responsible for the value added laminated glass interlayers market development for the advanced architectural glass design focusing on structural, acoustic, decorative and other specialized performance glazing applications.

In 2005, he earned bachelor’s degree in architectural from Hong-ik University in Korea. He has been engaged in marketing & sales in the diverse construction materials market such as interior dry wall, ceiling, and thermal ins.

The hour long webinar will cover how urbanization forces people to live close together. Noise pollution causes serious health issue and reduces the concentration of human beings. Since people spend most of their time in buildings, these have to be given extra protection.

The highest sound attenuation values are achieved by laminated glass with acoustic PVB interlayer.

This session introduce the elements, effects and measurement of sound, and provide the acoustic laminated glass design process with worldwide case studies.
