SCOPE.
The scope of Boon Edam UK’s involvement was to design and supply premium entrance solutions that integrate seamlessly with Island’s architectural vision while supporting its sustainability objectives. This included the installation of a Tourniket revolving door at the main entrance to maintain climate control and reduce energy loss, a critical factor in achieving Net Zero Carbon performance.

Island, located in the heart of Manchester, represents a new era of workspace design by combining cuttingedge sustainability with architectural sophistication. Situated within the historic St Ann’s Conservation Area, this development by HBD in partnership with Greater Manchester Property Venture Fund (GMPVF) offers a next generation office environment that prioritises people, place, and planet. With its Net Zero Carbon credentials, Island sets a benchmark for future developments in the region.

Our entrance solutions were designed to help maintain energy efficiency and support Island’s sustainability targets, contributing to its BREEAM Excellent rating and 5★ NABERS UK certification.

Additionally, Boon Edam provided Lifeline Speedlane Swing gates within the reception area to ensure secure and efficient access for employees and visitors. These gates were designed to complement the interior finishes while maintaining smooth traffic flow and full compliance with accessibility standards.

Beyond supplying the entrance products, Boon Edam worked closely with the project team to support smooth integration into the building design. This included liaising with architects and contractors on technical details, coordinating finishes where possible, and ensuring the solutions aligned with the project’s functional and aesthetic requirements.

SOLUTION.
