Gradus was chosen to provide LED stair edgings for a custom-built theatre to showcase two films from Rosalind Nashashibi, one of the artists shortlisted for a Turner Prize.
Since established in 1984, the Turner Prize has become one of the most prominent international visual arts awards and has both reflected and contributed to a growing public awareness and interest in contemporary art.
The project needed a lighting solution that would complement the surroundings of this purpose built theatre, but that would also still provide a safe and secure environment for visitors. The continuity stair edging offered the perfect balance between aesthetics and safety.
RNT1218L stair edgings with blue continuity lighting were used to define the edge of all steps in the theatre, helping members of the public and staff to identify changes in level and reduce the risk of slips and trips on the stairs in low light conditions.
