LG launches new dual vane 4 way cassette

Air conditioning manufacturer LG Electronics has launched the latest design in 4-way cassette technology. This exciting new product is available for both single split and Multi V installations.

The new cassette features premium design and comes in a fresh new colour – Bright White (RAL 9003). It features a new square grille design rather than the familiar narrow grille design which makes these cassettes more aesthetically pleasing. The inlet area for the air intake is larger than for previous designs of cassettes, increasing airflow.

The new dual vane feature for each side of the cassette allows for a variety of angles for air flow. The airflow is controlled by a six-step angle feature - 10° to 85° - to ensure coverage for wider room spaces as required. A dual vane version suffers no air flow loss, enabling these cassettes to cool and heat room space more quickly and efficiently than standard vanes.

This new cassette design comes with six key features – power cool/heat, up/down swing, indirect airflow, direct airflow, smart mode and refresh mode. To take advantage of all six features, purchasers of the new cassettes need to purchase the LG standard III remote controller.

The power cool/heat function’s first setting is to automatically change the temperature setting to 18°C. The second setting enables the vanes on all side of the cassette to oscillate the air in the room, ensuring that the room either cools down or heats up more quickly.

The up/down swing function allows the cassette to ensure that the area reaches the set temperature quickly and evenly across the whole room. Many building owners invest in airflow guides to concentrate the airflow where they want it to be from cassettes. The LG Dual Vane 4-way cassette provides the best angles from which to enjoy indirect airflow. Indirect airflow is not related to temperature setting or air volume – which are both related to fan speed.

Because of the wide swing angle range of the Dual Vane cassette, it is possible for the air flow to reach floor level from higher ceilinged rooms – up to five metres. Before installing the Dual Vane 4-way cassette, installers need to carry out a mode setting, that will depend upon the ceiling height – a standard ceiling – up to 3.2 metres, a high ceiling – up to 3.6 metres and a super high ceiling – up to 5 metres.

The smart mode is able to keep the set temperature with indirect airflow to ensure end users enjoy constant comfort in the room. The unit detects when the set temperature drops by more than 3°C and re-engages to the power mode to get the room temperature back up to the target temperature, when it switches back to being controlled by the indirect airflow again. The units have an in-built human sensing function to provide the people living or working in their proximity with the ability to use indirect or direct air flow responses – and to provide energy saving of up to 54%.

The new units provide everyday high-performance air purification using an optional four-step air purifying system. Air passes through a pre-filter, then through a dust electrification screen, then through an ultra-fine dust kit before finally passing through a photocatalytic de-odorising filter. An optional elevation grille with a drop of 4m is also available for the new 4-way dual vane cassettes.

The refresh mode allows people to operate the cassettes to meet their own comfort zone. Whilst a normal body temperature is 36.5°C, people usually feel comfortable at around 25 or 26°C. With this situation, people can wake up in the mornings when the temperature is just -2°C below their comfort zone.

The new Dual Vane 4-way cassettes are available now.
