Liverpool Science Park

Liverpool Science Park

Client: Liverpool Science Park
Type of works: Supply of acoustic 5.2 screens using a combination of 25 and 40mm thick foam, depending on placement and requirements.

Liverpool Science Park had two large spaces which they wanted to separate into smaller, acoustically private offices to enable them to rent the space to various businesses.

The brief was to accommodate up to six companies in individual offices and with shared access to meeting rooms and a soft seating area. The system adopted had to be of sufficient versatility that relocation of the offices should be possible. Each demountable office and meeting room had to have a sound level reduction of 20dB across the speech frequency range.

With the exception of the ceiling, most of the surfaces in the spaces were reflective with plaster and glass walls, and a standard non-acoustic carpet.

Acoustic 5.2 screens were used to form these offices, using a combination of 25 and 40mm thick foam, depending on placement and requirements.

The Landlord at Liverpool Science Park said: “We are delighted with the installation of the acoustic screens. They have provided us with a solution which performs to our requirements without having to change any of the original finishes. Lighting and air-conditioning requirements have not been a problem due to the fact that the screens do not reach ceiling height. Our tenants seem happy with their temporary offices.”
