Lumen rooflights feature on Channel 4 restoration series

Lumen Rooflights has supplied four rooflights for the restoration of a Grade II listed Georgian Mill, featured in the series of Channel 4's hit TV show The Restoration Man.

The series follows new owners as they restore, convert and breathe new life into heritage buildings in the UK with the help of presenter, architect George Clarke. The programme follows each stage of the design and build process as well as looking into the rich history of each property and their former importance to the local community.

For the restoration of Thrum Mill, in Rothbury, Northumberland, the ambitious plans included a complete replacement of the roof. As only a few windows existed in the Mill, and the owners were not permitted to make any more openings, owing to its listed status, a major feature of the renovations comprised how light would enter into the building.

The owners selected Lumen LR-1 conservation style rooflights, which replicate a traditional Victorian design.
