M62 kept safe with central reservation upgrades from Blue Phoenix

Blue Phoenix IBAA has been used in the works upgrading the central reservation between Junctions 33 to 34 on the M62 at Ferrybridge.

In the first phase of the works a 2000mm trench x 3.5m x 500mm depth was created to be filled with 370mm of Type 1 Clause 803 underneath 130mm of Asphalt.

In the second phase the existing barrier was taken down with construction of Concrete V Channel by the sub contractor. There was infill of both sides of V Channel with Type 1 & Concrete, which was then surfaced with Asphalt.

IBAA is an extremely cost-effective material when compared to Primary Aggregates, there are advantages logistically when using IBAA due to the low density of the material allowing for fewer vehicle movements as this gives volumetric advantages over primary materials.
