Specifying the industry-leading pre-plumbed panelling system Vepps helped to reduce installation time by 50%.
The project
Marian Vian Primary School in Beckenham, Kent is proud to be a place where “everyone has a right to be safe, happy, respected and able to reach their full potential.”
The school always strives for excellence and integrity, which was reflected in their requirement to update and refurbish their KS2 girls’ washroom facilities, which were installed in 1930. The aim of the project was to provide students with bright, modern and easy to maintain washrooms.
The challenge
As is common with education projects, Marian Vian’s challenge was associated to time constraints, due to school term times. A two week programme was put into place to complete the washrooms, which was aided by specifying the industry-leading pre-plumbed panelling system Vepps,
helping to reduce installation time by 50%.
Venesta were pleased to work with accredited installers G Haslehurst Builders, who reconfigured the entire washroom space by knocking down walls to create one room, laying new flooring, building new entrance doors, as well as installing Venesta cubicles, pre-plumbed panelling systems, vanities and sanitaryware.
The solution
Marian Vian Primary School specified the cutting-edge pre-plumbed panelling system, Vepps, for their WC cubicles. The efficient, high quality and cost-effective installation is only half the story, as Vepps was designed to offer end users simple and effective ongoing maintenance.
Vepps proves to be a popular choice for schools and universities as its flush panels and anti-tamper locks make it impossible for students to access the duct space behind, helping to keep students and staff safe.
From their choice of 34 laminate colours, the versatile and economical Award cubicles were specified in bright yellow and mid grey to suit Marian Vian’s design brief. The staff and students alike love the pop of colour that’s been used in the washrooms, while light grey helps to brighten the room.
Students have the right for their privacy to be respected while using washroom facilities, and thanks to Award’s anti-tamper fixings this has been achieved. The headrail, cleats, pedestals, and locks all have discreetly hidden fittings, while the continuous headrail also adds to the cubicle’s strength and rigidity.
The HPL (High Pressure Laminate) cubicles installed were a suitable choice for a busy, high footfall washroom such as those at Marian Vian Primary School. Thanks to HPL’s properties, all panels and doors installed are heat, scratch and impact resistant, making it a suitable choice for a busy school.
The Solid Surface wash troughs in “Vesuvius” give the school’s washroom facilities a contemporary, minimal look, while being highly functional and easy to clean too. The SGL underframe and underpanels are impervious to water, making this the optimal choice for the school’s vanity units.
